Last Night I Watched: Snowpiercer

Snowpiercer was a movie I got a copy of awhile ago, like before I started business school, and was originally supposed to be a part of last summer's bar exam film festival. But it got kept out for some reason and I kind of forgot about it. But for whatever reason, I pulled it out last night and decided to watch it and MY GOD what have I been missing.

Last Night I Watched: The Guest

After listening to Real Good Show, @boring_as_heck's podcast, based on their recommendation, I decided to make the second movie of my personal summer film festival The Guest. It was certainly an interesting if conventional movie but ultimately, it just left me wondering when we get to the fireworks factory for the first three quarters of it.

Last Night I Watched: Frank

Last summer, one of the first movies I watched was The Spectacular Now, which left me a wreck halfway through to the degree I couldn't finish it in one night. If Frank's 2nd half had been its first, the same thing probably would've happened, albeit for different reasons. But Frank's 1st half was one of the top funniest things in a movie I've ever seen.

This is way less creepy when you watch (screenshot from the film)

Introducing T-Bang's Summer 2015 Film Festival

So last summer while I was killing myself voluntarily studying for the NY bar, I was too poor to afford new video games or anything like that, so I decided I'd watch a new movie every night or every other night to at least have some kind of highlight at the end of my day. I think I ended up doing it pretty much every night for a month and dug up my final top 5 rankings from less than a week before the bar:

I figured since I have exactly a month to go before I head to Chicago on July 28 to start my 3 week plus sojourn through the western United States, I'd try to do that again more since I'm bored as hell than because I need a highlight. Thursdays it probably won't happen but hey most nights is good enough. Or maybe during the day on those days who knows.

I'm still deciding on what I'm going to watch tonight. Probably something off HBO Go but who knows. I'll probably write a 500 word review of it on here tomorrow and if anyone randomly comes across this with any suggestions, holla at ya boy.

3. Called the church twice

5. Didn't get upset when criticized over work-just fixed it

The Civil War and School

I figured I'd write about the Confederate Flag. Except not to get myself yelled at or called an ignorant white person, which I'd assuredly be if I wrote about it in any other context than this one.

I thought I'd write about the Civil War in the context that I was taught it in a Northeastern middle and high school. I've been thinking about how many people have their facts so wrong about the Civil War, its causes and its meanings. People thought the South just wanted nullification or states' rights (which they did, but what did they want to prevent from going away?) or something like that. And sure that's one thing, but like @DragonflyJonez said, and I'm paraphrasing, all those causes are one degree from slavery.

Thoughts on Columbus 1 Year In

I've been in Columbus for almost 11 months now but I don't think I got a real, honest impression of the city until school ended and I came back from New Jersey in the middle of May to start my job. With school in session at OSU, Columbus is a bustling city with a lot to do. Without it, it's a big suburb with one pretty nice street.

The Witcher 3 and Growing Up

The first game I remember having morality choices be a central part of the gameplay experience was Knights of the Old Republic, which I played circa 2004. Prior to that, every game seemingly had a fairly linear structure with one defined outcome. You had no say in how your avatar acted or reacted; it was basically a movie with gameplay interspersed.

Hey I'm writing

Hey guys, since there isn't much hockey to write about since OSU isn't getting anyone drafted and I'm pretty bored after work, I figured I'd write stuff.

If anyone finds this and wants to follow it for some reason, go right ahead but I'm basically using it as a journal till I travel. Then it's a travel journal for 3 weeks then who knows. So my mom will probably find it.

There's no theme and I'm not really even trying to work on writing. I just heard keeping a journal helps when you're bored or by yourself, so I figured I'd try and write about whatever comes to mind.

Sorry for not putting any effort into the site. I know jack about HTML outside of basics and think Mad Max was awesome so that's all I put
